Bath, Shower Tray & Basin Repair

Replacing a bath or shower tray usually means removing tiles, panels and plumbing — a costly, disruptive job. Our in-situ repairs restore chipped, cracked and worn baths, shower trays and basins without any of that upheaval, typically in just a few hours.

We repair chipped enamel and porcelain, cracked and flexing acrylic, worn or stained surfaces and impact damage. The repaired area is rebuilt, colour-matched and re-finished to a smooth, durable, easy-to-clean surface that blends with the original.

From a small chip on a new bath damaged during a renovation to a tired old suite in need of refreshing, our repairs give a like-new result for a fraction of the cost and mess of a full bathroom replacement.

Repairing a bath or shower tray in place costs far less than a full bathroom replacement. A new bath supply and fit can cost £500–£2,000 or more once tiling, plumbing and decoration are factored in. A professional in-situ repair is a fraction of that.

Repair vs. replace — why it makes sense

Before spending thousands on replacement, consider what a professional cosmetic repair actually delivers.

Enamel baths are cast iron or steel with a glass-like enamel coating fused to the metal. When this coating chips, the bare metal beneath can rust if left untreated. We rebuild enamel chips using specialist vitreous enamel repair compounds that bond to the surface, match the gloss level of the surrounding enamel and prevent further moisture ingress.

Acrylic and fibreglass baths and shower trays can crack, flex and craze over time — often because the supporting framework has shifted or softened. We repair the crack or chip from the surface, reinforce the area from beneath where necessary, and re-finish to an invisible result. A flexing shower tray is reinforced before the cosmetic repair to prevent the crack re-opening.

Builders frequently chip baths, basins and shower trays when working in bathrooms — dropping tools, kneeling on surfaces or dragging materials across sanitaryware. These renovation chips are among the most common repairs we carry out, and most are completed before the bathroom tiling is even finished, so the chip disappears completely under the final grout lines.

How it works

A straightforward process, from first contact to finished repair.

  1. 01

    Free assessment

Send us a photo of the damage via WhatsApp or email and we will provide a free, no-obligation quote within 24 hours. We can also arrange a free on-site visit for larger or more complex damage.

  2. 02

    Surface preparation

The area is thoroughly cleaned, degreased and keyed to ensure the best possible adhesion. Any flexing or structural issue is addressed before the cosmetic repair begins.

  3. 03

    Repair & re-finish

The chip or crack is rebuilt layer by layer, colour-matched precisely to the surrounding surface and re-finished to a smooth, hard-wearing, waterproof finish.

  4. 04

    Cured and ready to use

The repair cures within a few hours. We advise waiting overnight for bath and shower tray repairs before full use, to allow complete cure of the waterproof seal.
